Biography

Back in 1993, the band Saybia was formed in Nyborg, Danmark.
From that moment on, the boys have been working hard to show their talents to the world.
In 1997, two new band members were added, guitar player Sebastian Sandstrøm and keyboard player Jess Jensen. By doing this, Saybia gets its very own unique structure and style.
In 2000, the band moves to Copenhagen where they start to work on new songs in their studio. Copenhagen turns into their homebase.
In june 2001 they release the "Saybia EP" containing the songs "Foold corner" and "The day after tomorrow", which gets a lot of airplay on the Danish radiostation "P3".
This station was convinced that Saybia was able to reach a bigger audience than they did back then.
"Fools Corned" also gets used as soundtrack for the Danish movie "En Kort En Lang".
In december 2001 Saybia receives the P3 Award and shorty after that they get stated as Best new band of the year 2002 by the Danish magazine "Gaffas".
The band also receives the Danish Music Award for Best Rock Album for their EP.
On the 21 january 2002, the long awaited album "The second you sleep" is released.
In Danmark, this album gets to the number 1 position in all charts in no-time.
With 11 numbers on the tracklist, it is an album that searches for beauty and purity, with lyrics searching for answers to the questions of life.
On 21 february 2002, there are more than 10.000 sold copies of the album and in may even more than 83.000!
In the after-summer of 2002, the album gets released in the Netherlands and shortly after that also in the rest of Europe.
The single "The second you sleep" also gets released in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
In the Netherlands, the album reaches the sixth place in the album top 100.
On 28 june 2002 Saybia plays on the big stage of the Danish rock festival Roskilde.
This is one of the highlights of their carreer according to the band.
After many big concerts and festivals in different countries all over Europe, Saybia has already achiefed a lot, but for them, the future has only just began. Now they have released their second album called "These are the days" all over Europe.
